Kohler Engine Problems
Kohler is an engine manufacturing company that was founded in 1920. The company started out manufacturing generators that were used to power small rural markets. Kohler Engine Company is a division of Kohler Plumbing Company. The first manufacturing plant was founded by John Michael Kohler; he started the company by buying over a company named, Sheboygan Union Iron and Steel Company. Kohler first started manufacturing steel and iron tools that were used on farms and then, only ten years later, manufactured the first bath. After this, the company went on to other businesses, and today Kohler is a household name. The Company has at least three divisions. These are the Plumbing division, known as Kohler, the Engine division known as Kohler Engines, and Kohler Holiday Resorts.
Apart from the many changes this company has gone through, not to mention the many Kohler engine problems the engine company had at the beginning, the Kohler family members went on to earn a good name and build a solid reputation. At least two of the Kohler men became Governors of Wisconsin, and four of them went through the company as one or other executive.
The engine division on the Kohler Company was started around the same time as the steel manufacturing company, as much of what both divisions manufactured went hand in hand. As mentioned before, the engine division got off to a rocky start with many Kohler engine problems, however, these kinks were ironed out and the division took off to become one of the biggest manufactures of engines and generators in the world. After the plumbing and engine companies became a success another division was created, and this means that today, there are at least five companies run under the Kohler name. These are in industries including plumbing, engines, holiday resorts, chocolates, and furniture.
